Fort Riley opening Warrior Zone for solider recreation , Army officials are opening a new center at Fort Riley designed to provide soldiers with additional recreational opportunities.
A ribbon cutting on the new Warrior Zone is set for Tuesday at the northeast Kansas post. The center is located in a new 25,000-square-foot building constructed specifically to meet soldier needs.
Soldiers will have access to 68 computers for general use and gaming, video game consoles, poker and pool, a snack bar and a theater, along with grills and a fire pit.
Fort Riley officials say the center is the first of its kind built for soldier recreation and not renovated from another building.
Events planned this weekend include live music and outdoor recreation activities.
